Business metrics

Set these to match the business, then ask for the estimate. It runs the same valuation method our brokers use, and it tells you where the number is weak.

How much recurring revenue grew over the last twelve months.

Profit plus what the owner takes out of the business. Leave at 0 if you do not know it: the estimate then uses the revenue methods only, and says so.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this estimate?

It applies general SaaS rules of thumb to the numbers you enter. It does not verify your inputs, and actual prices depend on diligence, deal terms, buyer demand and market conditions. For a formal valuation, such as for an SBA loan, tax or legal purposes, use a qualified appraiser.

What is a typical multiple for a small SaaS business?

Smaller, owner-run SaaS businesses are often priced on profit. Acquire.com reported a median sale at 3.9x profit for 2024 and 2025, and FE International's August 2026 benchmarks put SDE multiples at roughly 2.5x to 4x under $1M ARR. Larger, faster-growing companies are more often priced on ARR.

What is net revenue retention (NRR)?

NRR measures how much recurring revenue you keep and expand from existing customers over a period, after churn, downgrades and upgrades. Above 100% means existing customers alone grow revenue, even before you add new ones.

What is the Rule of 40?

Growth rate plus profit margin of 40% or more. It was coined for larger software companies, so treat it as a rough health check for a small SaaS business, not a pricing rule.

Why does customer concentration affect value?

When a few customers produce a large share of revenue, losing one can seriously hurt the business. Buyers discount concentrated revenue because it adds risk.
